Vision Statement

​

The vision of the Westwood Church of Christ is for God to help us embody each of the following characteristics as we fulfill our mission to love God, love others, and love serving.

 

1. To personify the refreshing invitation of Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30), reflect his heart as an oasis for the weary, and assure everyone of God’s grace, mercy, and redemption, regardless of their past.

2. To demonstrate the importance of strong family bonds and a vibrant youth and children’s ministry.

3. To exemplify the moral and ethical teachings of Jesus and the apostles and build redemptive relationships with others as part of sharing the gospel.

4. To exhibit active faith through participation in Bible classes and small groups that equip us  to be disciples and make disciples.

5. To express genuine community and share faith experiences that allow us to experience the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).

6. To bear witness to the happiness of unity through diversity as together we fulfill our common mission to love God, love others, and love serving.

7. To unite around the shared goal of spiritual maturity as each member employs their spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ.

8. To make the teaching about God attractive (Titus 2:10) by the positive difference we make in our community and beyond, and thereby draw others to Him.
